Silk finish cotton colour chart

Silk finish cotton is a cotton sewing thread, quilting thread and topstitching thread. It is made from high quality cotton.

The different thicknesses are suitable for different projects
Number 28:
  • Would you like to topstitch with a matfinished cotton thread? Number 28 is your thread. Also when quilting and hand embroidery it is a great choice
  • With this thick and subtle shiny thread you can create gorgeous decorative seams, stitches and embroidery
  • The thread is also suitable for buttonholes and topstitching jeans and denim
  • In production this thread undergoes the mercerization process, this technology gives the thread more tensile strength, reduces schrinkage of the cotton and makes it ironing proof
  • The special dyeing technique gives this thread the highest colourfastness
Number 40:
  • Thé cotton thread for patchwork and quilting
  • Because it is a bit thicker you get great looking decorative topstitched seams and impressive  embroidery (when doing machine embroidery remember to decrease the density of the stitches, it should not be to high)
  • In production this thread undergoes the mercerization process, this technology gives the thread more tensile strength, reduces schrinkage of the cotton and makes it ironing proof
  • Use this allround thread also when sewing, doing crossstitch patterns and on the overlocker as underthread (on the needle use thinner overlocking thread)
Number 50 in uni and multicolor
  • Number 50 is a real allrounder, not to thick and not to thin. So use it for everything you can think of: from quilting to sewing and machine embroidery to decorative overlocking seams
  • When using it on the overlocker please remember to use a thinner thread on the needle
  • Stitches stay supple and get a luxurious appearance and a soft effect
  • The multicolors are made in beautiful gradiations and the spools are sold in big and small. The big spools are ideal for the long arm quilting machine
  • In production this thread undergoes the mercerization process, this technology gives the thread more tensile strength, reduces schrinkage of the cotton and makes it ironing proof
Number 60
  • This thin cotton sewing thread is suitable for quilting and creating matte embroidery
  • Because it is so fine you van use it on thin fabrics like cambric, tulle, cotton, linen teddy and many other fabrics
  • This quality thread makes fine or full embroidery masterpieces
  • In production this thread undergoes the mercerization process, this technology gives the thread more tensile strength, reduces schrinkage of the cotton and makes it ironing proof

Amann Group Mettler uses the same colournumbers for almost all products. With the seralon color chart you can see the colours of most other Amann threads. This silk finish cotton chart has a few number that are not on the seralon chart because multicolour threads are not available in seralon
