Measuring a skirt seam was never more easy! 
Place the skirtmarker next to the person wearing the skirt, trousers or jacket.
Adjust the height of the chalk holder to the desired level and start marking.
Roll the skirtmarker around the person.
Usually the height of 80 cm is enough to do most markings, but when marking a jacket for a long person can prove to be difficult.
When that happens: place the skirtmarker on a stool.
You can measure from about 10cm from the floor and the highest is about 78cm.

This is the professional model and has a heavy metal foot with three caster wheels that makes this skirtmarker very agile.
The rod of this skirtmarker is not round but hexagonal and made of heavy duty metal. Because of the hexagonal form, the chalk holder will stay in the same position at all times and will not drop while in use. No matter how often you use the skirtmarker, you will nog be able to wear it out. If a part breaks or deteriorates you simply order a new part!
